I've always been hesitant to buy wool socks for fear they would irritate my feet and shrink when washed, but these socks didn't help. My fears were thankfully unfounded. These socks are very, very comfortable even for my sensitive feet and don't cause blisters. They also keep my feet warm in boots so I'm very happy with them. I've washed them several times and they don't shrink but flatten out nicely. One note: when I washed them for the first time, I didn't notice that a pair of white socks went in the wash. Well the white socks are a bit gray now so these wool socks are a bit washed out. Just make sure there are no white or faded colors in the laundry the first time you wash these socks. Nothing wrong with that and I certainly wouldn't deduct a star for my laundry sorting error, but I wanted to point that out. These are very comfortable, well made socks.
