Review on 🎙️ Shure SM48-LC Vocal Microphone: Dynamic Sound Quality with Shock-Mounted Cartridge, Pop Filter, Mic Clip, and Storage Bag by Eric Dubreuil

I have four Shure microphones SM-48 (this cardioid model is being tested) SM-58 (gold standard cardioid) SM-58S (gold standard cardioid ) with on/off slide switch) BETA 58A (supercardioid) Had I known I wouldn't have bought this mic, it doesn't fit my needs but from the description and all the lovely details it definitely sounded like it was right microphone for me. I have a karaoke night and most normal female singers don't have much strength. You can't use this mic because it needs too much gain - feedback city - unless I turn the karaoke music down enough to hear those singers. I get the best results with BETA 58A. It's a bit sensitive to frequencies on the back compared to the SM-58, but as long as someone doesn't cover the mic there's no problem. Sounds absolutely great, but costs the same as SM-58 + SM-48. I'd say if price is an issue and you're a screamer or backing singer, go for this option, especially if you're performing. It's well built. It can fail. If price is an issue but sound is more important, get the SM-58. Use the one with the switch only if you need a switch. I use a switch at my desk to make quick announcements without worrying about fade or feedback. But switches wear out over time, which is why I never use switch mics for singers. I recommend this option if it suits your needs. If you want more: Get BETA 58A.
