Since the Food Saver brand stuff is half the price, it was easy to try them out. I just got a chance to use them last weekend when one of the local grocery stores had New York steaks for $3.97 a pound. I vacuumed about 50 steaks last Sunday and only had one failure (due to operator error, not material). These bags appear to be thicker than the stuff that came with my Food Saver (model FM2435-ECR). I had no trouble sealing this stuff and my sealer was able to suck out all the air with ease. I will definitely be switching to this brand to reduce the overall cost of long term food storage. I have steaks that have been vacuum packed for three years and still taste fresh. Using a vacuum sealer is more expensive on the front end, but saves a lot of money on the back end because you're not wasting food behind the freezer. I recommend this packing material to everyone. Works just as well as branded items but costs half. A win!
