Stable stand, quality control issues

Considering this is a budget monitor stand that lacks the shine of more expensive options, it worked well for my purposes. The assembly instructions were easy to follow and once assembled it only took a few seconds to securely attach it to the back of my desk with the C-clamp. Mounting two 32" monitors was easy, but not as easy as other monitor stands and required some finesse due to their unwieldy size. The process could be improved by opening the top screw mount in the bracket, allowing you to partially insert some screws. into the monitor, then hang the monitor on it while inserting the last two screws. Also, use oversized swivel head screws or Phillips hex head screws, no cheap Phillips screws would do. With a larger monitor, you really need to tighten them, and Phillips head screws are notorious for being easy to remove when they need tightening. Also, black screws look much better on a black monitor back than stainless steel screws. The vertical 3" range of screw adjustment is awesome, but unfortunately it's also a bit wavy no matter which range you set it to. Adjusting it all the way up or down reduces the wobbling a bit. On the large 32-inch monitors I had enough room at the bottom to open my laptop without covering the bottom of the screens very handy when needed especially for using the webcam for virtual meetings This is fine as long as you don't move your monitors often and intend to to keep them always in the same place. The weight and torque of the 32" monitors meant they were tightened a bit to keep them from moving. This may not be as bad with smaller, lighter monitors. Due to the wobbling and the "stickiness" of the pan and tilt, it took me quite a while to position the monitors the way I wanted and try to compensate for the extra movement that s I "hired" after I had hired them. Once attached, they were fine. I liked that you could move the monitors left and right and this feature worked well. Once I got used to where I wanted to be, I tightened the screws so they wouldn't move. The big downside for me was that the B-pillar arrived with the black paint partially peeling off the base. After a while it seemed to rust in places. There was no such problem with any other mounting system, only in the base of the B-pillar. I sent it back and they replaced it with another one that had the exact same problem which I also sent back. A good system for the price. The peeling paint at the base of the B-pillar is disappointing.
