Review on ๐ŸŽฅ TOTMC USB 2.0 Video Capture Adapter: Windows XP/2000/Vista/7/8 Compatible by Chris Edgerton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy to use for non-engineers like me.

The instructions were almost illegible because of the small font. I took a photo with my phone to enlarge it, but even that was difficult because the print quality was poor. Fortunately, the connections are direct. Please note that these plugs do not replace the normal plugs used to connect the device to the TV. This is a converter that connects to standard RCA cables and then to your computer via a USB port. The bottom of the installation message states that you must restart your computer before using the product. Of course, I ignored this step in order to put the device into operation immediately. Do not go. You really need to restart your computer before it recognizes the newly installed drivers. My only problem was figuring out how to play audio from VHS. It was a simple trial and error process and I was able to figure everything out. The included software is very easy to use. The screen display is exactly the same as it was when my VCR/DVD was connected to my TV. This was a great relief as I could use my remote to control the device. I am very happy to be able to capture all the highlights from our old family films and leave out the boring parts. Why my husband decided it would be interesting to film the entire 1994 Thanksgiving dinner from start to finish I will never know. Also, 2 full hours on Christmas morning is more than enough for everyone. With this device and program I can compile the best moments and even do some color corrections. Maybe I shouldn't? '70s tans and '80s blues and reds are nostalgic, right?
