I use this strip to charge a few electronic devices, as well as to power an alarm clock and some items on my desk. Doesn't get hot, and even with multiple ports, I don't see any drop in performance on any of my devices, even a particularly sensitive light table that tends to flicker with other USB ports. I couldn't help but giggle, too. in the instructions that informed me to avoid "shock and break" the extension cord.
