The price for this product has become more affordable than traditional hard disk drives which makes it perfect if you don't need speed and want some space capacity at your fingertips! In my case that was not needed since there were already enough virtual machines in our infrastructure. A few things such as having better software support from VMware would be nice but they are working towards making sure their products work well with other vendors' offerings so maybe those will come eventually too? We use flash arrays within vSphere hosts to improve overall performance by reducing seek times over spinning disks.
