To make a great shot, you need to try hard. I have the Soviet Helios 44-2 in my opinion, it surpasses 50mm in terms of sharpness, but still it does not have autofocus :) There is no lens hood in the kit, well, of course, for such a price, this is due. And sometimes it is very lacking. In general, a good lens for its price, better than the Canon Kit. I advise all beginners to take a carcass (body) and this fifty dollars :)
