Review on Blomus Stainless-Steel Door Stopper by Debra Decou

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works right out of the box

I needed a solid stop to keep my heavy front door from banging against an expensive wall light. Not even the vaguely attractive fixed (bolt on) doorstops worked as they were all too short (low to the ground). I bought one of these and thought I might find a way to attach it to the floor. And I did. I drilled and tapped a 1/4 - 20 hole in the bottom and screwed in the wall hanger screw. I then drilled a hole in the wooden floor and screwed a hanging bolt into the floor, which rotated the entire doorstop. Ideal. It seems that he is just sitting on the ground but not moving. Between the weight and the bolting, this absolutely prevents light from entering the door. If I were Blomus I would do this with a threaded hole in the bottom. Note. This item is not solid stainless steel. It is cast iron with a stainless steel body. It doesn't spoil the looks and usefulness at all. Just a little surprise when I pierced it.

Pros
  • Black non-slip rubber base and sides protect floor and doors
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
