I'm so glad I found these boots! My son is almost 3 years old, he is quite slim and short for his age. But he's also very active, running and climbing outdoors a lot, so I really needed winter boots that weren't too bulky, stiff or difficult for him to play with. I'm not sure if they're best for extended backcountry play (maybe they'd be just right. We haven't tried them yet), but we'll be using them primarily in light snow or just on cold, no-snow winter days. If sneakers don't fit, we choose them. The quality is evident upon receipt of these boots and I'm sure they will likely hold up well. We did as recommended and ordered 1 size up and they fit great. My son seems to like them a lot and has no problem walking/jumping/climbing/playing in them and they definitely keep his feet warm! They were expensive and more money than I originally wanted to spend on winter boots but since they are so easy and comfortable for him I think we will get a lot out of them and they seem worth it. Price. If so, I'll probably buy them again next winter.
