I give my 20 month old granddaughter a prop when I read to her so that she is interested in the books I read to her. She likes a book about a hat seller with a bunch of hats on his head that the monkeys took from him in his sleep. The monkeys throw back their hats when the peddler gets angry and throws his hat on the ground. My granddaughter loves to wear her 2 hats while I read; She also takes 2 hats from my closet for me to wear at the same time. We have a lot of fun together.
