They fit perfectly in a rather heavy single armchair. I had no problems installing them, but they came with no instructions. You only need a few basic tools: a drill with a 3/8" bit (useful if you start with a 1/8" bit and then move on to a 3/8" bit) and a hammer ( or rubber mallet) to fully seat the metal insert. Additional items may include a gauge to pinpoint the location of your holes (usually the center of the base of the foot). The roller pin pointed straight down at the floor when inserted. Don't swing it or your hole will be too big or oval. You want the metal insert to be tight with the teeth fully inserted into the wood. This will help if you use a rubber mallet or place a piece of wood on the insert before hitting it with the hammer to prevent the metal insert from deforming. well supported so it doesn't move when you hit it with a hammer or the teeth won't go into the wood. Finally, simply slide the roller pin all the way into the insert until it clicks into place. is held by a metal insert and does not fall out.
