I've been prototyping for 50 years and Kynar wire wrapping is still the best way to connect tiny components in tight spaces. Kynar isn't impermeable to heat like Teflon or silicone, but it's cheap and fairly impermeable. This material is tiny, to twist the wire to fit the pins, get good quality surgical tweezers, preferably stainless steel to keep the solder from sticking to it. You'll also need a good quality wire stripper, which will strip to any length, and a pair of non-serrated needle nose pliers to hold the wire against the insulation while stripping. In comparison, PVC insulation is a nightmare for tight-space soldering. Heat the wire sufficiently for soldering and you can expect 1/8" to 1/4" of the insulation to melt. Whatever you buy, don't buy PVC to connect the components.
