Plan to buy additional equipment or create mods.

I bought this set after seeing a great idea for displaying palettes in my dressing table. Measured twice, bought once. Yes. Time for some power tools. My cleats are set between 14" and 16" so the 16.5" size should fit as listed. The problem is that the shelves are 14" long at best (were up to 0.5") and the mounting holes are only 9" apart. It won't work. So I had two choices. Wait until the hardware store opens in the morning to get the proper anchors and drywall screws (the ones that come with them are literally junk. Hurry, they are now in the trash!) or improvise! This was option B. I measured and finalized the design of the shelves and marked each with a marker where the ledge was past the nearest center point. I found that not all shelves came with a protective film covered. Sigh. Anyway, I can draw them. And it probably will. Drill a little and you have your shelves ready to be centered on the posts. I have the shelves centered on the posts , by patterning the steps and reinforcing them with a few smaller screws and construction glue in the holes already made. Put the pallets on and you're done. There was too much palette for my design (originally I wanted them to be centered on top of each other) so I installed the extra one in my closet. Very nice Pros: - CHEAP! - Individualization - Large storage area. It fits a medium bottle of lotion. I won't because I'm afraid it will all collapse, but yes. He really fits. Flexible and easy to drill if necessary. Cons: Who installed studs this way? Srsly.-Some shelves arrived scratched due to lack of foil. Perhaps I received a repackaged return? Who knows. - Contained Iron - Garbage. Do yourself a favor and find the right drywall anchor kit before you start this project if it works on drywall. In general. Yes I would buy it again. In fact, it works so well on my closet door that I want more. But I had a very hard time replanning my plan and lost some usable space because I had to change it for strength reasons. The product is not designed for "standard" spikes. If you have an all wood wall, door or good anchors this works very well.
