I received a defective item and was not offered a replacement

I thought it was good value for money but when I received the product and set it up correctly it turned out to be completely defective. The power switch on the monitor itself was defective and it was never clear if the monitor was getting power from the power supply. Oh, did I mention that? This monitor comes with a power adapter compared to my other MSI monitors. At least I get a refund but why couldn't I choose a replacement when I wanted to? I'm just making the connection between my credit and Affirm a lot more difficult. I will not order this again.
