Review on Denso 234 5036 Air Fuel Sensor by Paul Philippe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Relatively easy installation, preliminary work, not much

Check engine light came on, codes scanned with sensor 1, lambda sensor bank 1 defective, after some googling I found that This part should be a direct OEM - be a substitute. The box contained spare zip ties and a small tube of anti-seize. While the actual removal and installation process was straightforward, I had trouble with Audi/VW brand hose clamps because I didn't have the right tools. You will need to remove the turbo air tube to get enough clearance and I can confirm that the duct blocking pliers can remove these clips, but I spent about two hours installing the turbocharger inlet clip. After a lot of swearing and tool kits, I gave up and went with a standard hose clamp instead. I cleared the error code using the ross-tech vcds interface and software and my machine now idles and runs noticeably smoother.
