SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic vs. Cosmetic Skin Solutions Vitamin C+E Serum

A few weeks after ordering Revain, SkinCeuticals sent me a free sample of their CE Ferulic. (Do they have access to my purchase history? That was creepy.) BUT it allowed me to compare this product and the SkinCeuticals product side by side. (I've also used Paula's Choice Resist C15 serum before. I love PC products and use their clinical retinol serum, but I found their C15 to be more irritating than either CSS or SC vitamin C serums.) So , back to that. to my page : a page comparison. (In fact, right now I have Cosmetic Skin Solutions Vitamin C+E Serum (CSS) on the right side of my face and SkinCeuticals (SC) on the left.) Here are my thoughts right now: Skin is a little damp, a little shiny and sometimes a slight tingling sensation. They are both almost transparent but have a slightly yellowish tint. CSS has a slightly stronger smell (kind of an astringent smell - nothing unpleasant. And I'm more sensitive to smells than anyone I know now), a slightly more watery texture (droplets roll down my face faster) and it's just a little stickier after application than SkinCeuticals. I also kept the CSS bottle open longer, which might explain some of the differences. After applying a product, I wait a bit for it to absorb and then apply a moisturizer. Once absorbed, the stickiness problem disappears. And when I apply foundation, I don't feel any nausea at all. My complexion glows every time I apply a product. It is immediately noticeable. It also instantly tightens the skin a little. I really like how my skin looks when I apply product. As I said, both products sometimes burn a little. If it lasts longer or causes a slight redness, I take a day or two off. None of them yellow my skin (although I'm still white with a yellow undertone). Also, my skin tends to be very sensitive. What I have seen in the vitamin C studies is that the results appear after a few months. I am 39 years old and interested in reducing the present/preventing the future: sagging, dark sun spots and wrinkles. All the experts agree that L-ascorbic acid is great for this, so I'll try to give it a few months before passing judgment. Conclusion: ALMOST NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO PRODUCTS based on my experience with them after a few weeks. Still, CSS costs about 75% less than SC. That's a HUGE price difference. I can afford a $40 bottle a few times a year. $165 is a noticeable difference. And let's face it, divorce. Which makes me angry. SC has garnered a huge following with its brand, but it's not worth quadrupling the price for the same ingredients that several other companies offer (like CSS and Paula's Choice). The ingredients are almost identical. (SC patented the pH of their formula, so CSS is a little less acidic to avoid infringing the patent.) And how much does this stuff actually cost to make? If other companies can make the same product for only 20-30% the cost, then it seems to me that SC is making us feel their products are better by creating perceived value through inflated prices and huge profits from our desire do because (mostly) women do to look better. It pisses me off and I will do everything in my power to avoid those fancy brands with insane premiums.
