Review on Dimmable Nightlight Adjustable Brightness Stairway by Amanda Smith

That's great! in Wall Lights

There are places for these lights that only detect ambient light or motion, but the ones that detect BOTH are awesome! It always annoyed me that in broad daylight a night light with a motion sensor would turn on. It's not that LEDs use a lot of power, but they're still a waste. Other people's perceptions may be different, but for me they activate at almost the same light level that I would ideally want them to be. Motion detection range is good and it only seems to "see" at a fairly slight up and down angle. So when plugged into an outlet near the floor on the other side of the room, the bed turning didn't trigger. - I guess they are pretty flat and therefore don't stick out very far from the wall; This is especially important in high traffic areas where they could be knocked over. The design is simple and clean - if not "decorative" then at least it doesn't clash with anything else. The AC plug is near one end so it can be positioned to block or not block the second outlet. (Although not a protective case, in some cases it can be useful to cover the second outlet.) Of course, I can't comment on durability yet, but assuming that good quality LEDs will perform at a reasonable level, should last a long time. The dimming seems fairly smooth, going to the point that it appears to be completely off, at least to me. I haven't done any specific testing, but I haven't noticed the "strobe" effect that can occur with cheap AC powered LED driver circuits, nor any LED dimming strobe that occurs with PWM dimming. carried out at too low a frequency. The light is pleasant, well diffused, slightly warm white.

Pros
  • Durable Finish
Cons
  • Worries Me
