The box is well made and the black version provides a nice contrast which makes for a better presentation. The storage below is super handy for my watch related tools, straps, cleaning cloth, etc. The one glaring flaw is the hinge design! My previous box had an integrated hinge that had no exposed levers which is ideal. The hinge in this particular box is offset from the inside of the case about 3/8” and impedes clearance for the rear left compartment. I put my beat up workshop Casio MDV106 in that unit to show the clearance. It is not as bad with a smaller diameter case watch but it actually rubs against the Casio. I drilled out the rivets, removed the hinge and will be replacing it with something more appropriate or a small clear that will be glued to the back of the box to stop the lid. I bought this box used-like new for $30 so as long as it fits my growing collection and accessories, I can live it.
