I bought this for an upcoming trip to the mountains for my pet and also for my German Shepherd. They both have wide chests, so I went size XL for both. They weigh about 45-50 pounds each. When I received them, you could visually tell that there is a difference in length even though they are the same size. The sweater itself is very thick yet stretchy which I thought was fantastic at the time as I didn't have to worry about it being too tight around their arms as they are young and live to play all the time. After a few hours of use you could tell that the neck was a bit dilated and the neck was a bit loose, but to be honest it wasn't too bad. In terms of quality, great stitching and it kept my girls warm which really made a difference.
