Review on StarTech.com DVI to VGA Cable Adapter (10 Pack) - Male DVI to Female VGA Converter - White by James Morrow

I thought this would be a great adapter for what I need but it isn't. It has 4 pins around the slotted pin but my motherboard doesn't have them. I think what I really wanted was a 25 pin DVI connector. I didn't know DVI came in more than one direction. It was just for connecting an old VGA monitor to my motherboard that doesn't have a VGA connector for initial BIOS/UEFI setup. I bought a newer, cheaper monitor for this purpose. If it's common knowledge that there are different pin configurations for DVI, then you all know that, but if not, double-check yours before you buy.
