Perfect replacement for Gen 3 2016 FJR1300

I don't usually worry too much about my horn as I'm a fairly defensive driver and often anticipate or fix potential problems. However, there was one day I had nowhere to go and the guy really didn't hear my horn at all and after this close chat it was decided I needed something louder. I saw many options but ultimately decided to go with them for three reasons. First, I didn't need any additional wiring or harness. I know I can/should use it, but didn't want to mess with the plastic strip as I haven't had to do it yet. They work great with a standard wiring harness, so unless you leave the horn on for hours you shouldn't blow the horn wiring or fuse. I also decided to change the connection point a bit to avoid cutting into my wiring harness. The horn comes with an extra cable to connect a second horn if you only have one, but the connection cable had a spade on one end to connect to the other horn and the other end has a plug. It didn't work for me so I cut off the end of the plug and replaced it with a combo jack. This allowed me to hook up a standard wire harness, plug in a horn, and connect that wire to another horn. Second, they were direct OEM replacements, meaning I didn't have to look for mounting points, they were already on the bike. 3rd generation FJRs from 2013 come with only one horn, while previous versions had two. So in Gen 3 they just left the slot open so we can still use it. And that's why they were largely invisible. However, like some other riders, I removed the shiny silver decals on the horn so it was a little better hidden under the bike when installed. Third, I wanted something louder but not obnoxious or bulky like some of the other options available. . It's more like an old Buick or larger SUV, so it still sounds like a car on the road rather than an air horn or a train. plugs that I attached. The results were immediate and excellent. The horn is much louder and fuller. Now people get scared when they hear such a big horn and only see a small bike. I feel bad for scaring her, but it's a small price to pay to keep her away from me. I would buy them again and again for every bike I own.
