Great upgrade to the factory Honda CR-V "Cricket " horn

These horns are perfect for my 2021 Honda CR-V. 60 minutes total time. Used X AUTOHAUX Car Speaker Audio Horn Wire Adapter Wiring Harness Wire Connector for Honda Civic 2pcs, two 8mm x 20 flange bolts and two 8mm flange lock nuts. The sound of these horns reminds me of the big car horns of the 50's and 60's.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

GDP! They are loud and work great!

Have they been installed in my 2018 Civic. Anyone who owns a Civic knows that the horn on this car is weak at best. Those horns are a HUGE improvement. I've seen other reviews saying they sound like an old Buick. They do, and that's perfectly fine with me! Although it's pretty funny to hear the Buick-style two-tone horn from the Civic. lol 😆 Anyway if you get them they will catch your attention and that's the idea. They obviously cost a little more than other aftermarket horns, but they're…

Holy cow they are loud

I bought a 1982 xj650 that still had the factory cone on it. 'meep mip'. My little one had no problem with the volume when she pressed the horn button while the bike was parked in my garage with the door closed (yes, engine off). This thing will never catch the car's attention. I saw them in a YouTube review and chose them based on that recommendation. Holy cow, they're loud. They are amazing. Very easy to install. I used a harness/relay (also from Revain) as the amperage was too high for the…

Loud update on my Honda Meep-Meep

To install these on your Honda 17 CRV you will first need to solder the 6" extension leads to the short (cut) factory leads after you who have removed share. Mip-Meep horns, then solder the extension wires to the new horns, then reinstall/tighten the factory nuts using a 12mm short extension socket. Saved 2 accidents by careless drivers in the last few weeks. They were both surprised that the horn was Honda LOL! To fit these horns as they are thicker than the factory thinner horns you will need

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons

Necessary horn upgrade!

UPDATE - Had problems with horn once then no more. Apparently Harley didn't think anyone would upgrade the 2.5 amp horn. So I had to install a relay - a universal 12v wire harness relay kit for a motorcycle, truck, grille bracket, Blast Tone horns - $10 and the problem was solved. A little pain in the ass. New Harley Pan America and the horn sounds like a scooter! They are amazing and pretty easy to install. Purchased male and female 1/4" connectors as well as an angle bracket. Two jacks in one

Pros
  • Still happy
Cons
  • Was damaged

Sounds like a horn

My new RAV4 had a really weak sounding horn that nobody took seriously. Even my wife, who is usually opposed to changing anything on a new car, was the first to say we needed a different horn. I took the risk of buying a used "like new" product and saved $20. The full price might be a bit steep, but PIAA is known to be the best. Used only a damaged packaging. The horns were perfect and apparently never installed or actually used. The horn sounds a little louder than the original, has a well…

Fantastically easy upgrade for my 2013 FJR1300

Fantastically easy upgrade for my 2013 FJR1300. I ordered this pair of horns, plus a set of male and female crimps on weatherproof spades: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013G4OMTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And after 20 minutes of fiddling I was set complete. I've had more trouble crimping wire connectors than horns. The included wiring harness is the perfect length, nothing gets in the way and I can keep a full turning radius. By ordering the crimp connectors I knit I was…

easy to install, great sound

I installed it on my 2014 FJR1300. It was straight. I separated the old horn and removed it with a hex head. Of the two wires present, brown is the + connection. The wires that came with the horns were useless, so I found 16 gauge speaker wire and some wire terminals that were the same size as the original horn and wires. They are blue. I made two Y wires by taking the speaker wire, twisting the two ends together and inserting the connector that goes to the bearing wires. I made a crossover…

Perfect replacement for Gen 3 2016 FJR1300

I don't usually worry too much about my horn as I'm a fairly defensive driver and often anticipate or fix potential problems. However, there was one day I had nowhere to go and the guy really didn't hear my horn at all and after this close chat it was decided I needed something louder. I saw many options but ultimately decided to go with them for three reasons. First, I didn't need any additional wiring or harness. I know I can/should use it, but didn't want to mess with the plastic strip as I…

Very loud! Read the information about the current draw.

I bought this P1AA horn kit based on the great reviews on YouTube and other good reviews online. I haven't installed it yet but have tested it with the fully charged motorcycle battery I kept inside the Optimate 6 Smart Charger during the winter months. It's noisy! In fact, they sound just like the good car horns that were in cars from the 70's and before. I am going to replace the ridiculous "meep-meep" horn that was on my motorcycle which is like the horn that only sounds on a motorcycle and…
