Review on L LIMINK S19 Portable Kickstand Compatible 14" Ultrawide LCD IPS Screen, 60Hz, No Driver Required, Foldable 235°+180° by Pablo Hargrove

Great concept, works well but overpriced given the quality and design.

• Beautiful cardboard box with colorful graphics on a white background, magnetic flip-top lid and lots of high-density foam. • Includes a soft neoprene zippered carrying case, a foldable display assembly, three pairs of cables, each approximately 3 feet long (2 x USB-C to USB-C, 2 x USB-A to USB-C, and 2 x mini-HDMI to HDMI ) and also a small instruction manual (the manual was in the foam on my device, so I had to tear it up a bit to get it) • Screen 14-inch Full HD matte fold-down screen with no touchscreen on either side. The device is a little big for assembly. fits a 13" or 14" screen with small bezels and the adjustments are sliding, non-locking with a slight friction fit but may work better on 14" screens with large bezels or 15-17" screens. I would describe it as "one size fits all", which is functional but not elegant or reliable. Slightly inward or outward, but if your laptop screen is at a significant angle, the hinges will not hold the side screens at a specific angle because the friction on the hinges is very small. • Each screen has two full functions (power/display) USB ports-C, mini HDMI port, brightness +/- and menu button on the outside. Each screen is independent and must be connected to your laptop with separate cables. So you need 2 free ports on your laptop to connect both monitors. You can power your laptop by connecting the power adapter to one of the monitor's USB-C ports, and then connecting the monitor to the laptop via USB-C. Attempting to daisy chain monitors on my laptop didn't seem to work (and the cables that came with it aren't long enough for that). • Very modest quality screens - Full HD and a matte finish, but not particularly bright or accurate colors, and a very light all-plastic construction. • I think this concept is great for those who often work from different locations and want additional productivity from more screen real estate. Recently, quite a lot of similar products with different levels of quality and design have appeared. • This particular model works perfectly but is about twice as expensive as I expected for its design, materials and quality. If you can't find it at a huge discount I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Pros
  • Ultra wide screen
Cons
  • Low refresh rate: When the monitor refresh rate is too low, motion may appear blurry or slow.
