I bought it to play with my kids. The price was right and I wasn't expecting much. Details are well weighed and drawn onto the board. (So if a kid comes in and bangs on the table, your pieces won't fly all over the place) The board actually snaps into place, which is pretty handy. I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised by this set. While you can still tell that it's cheap (seams on pieces are a bit uneven, board doesn't lay completely flat when open, etc.), you can get a set in the half size. . It's not a travel size, but that's one of the reasons I chose it. I didn't want the kids to learn from a little mini magnet set. I wanted something more. This set is really perfect.
