Review on Kittywalk Penthouse Resting Platforms Cats by Roberta Berg

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not for every cat. - Beds and furniture

I was looking for something for my adopted 3 year old cat to climb on and when I found Kittywalk products I thought it would be great to give him a way to get some fresh air . However, this product was far from perfect. It was easy enough to build, although not without frustration. The main problem I have is that my cat seems too big to use hammocks comfortably. He's not overweight, just a naturally large cat weighing about 12 pounds with very long legs. I've owned the penthouse for a few months now and he never dared climb the hammocks. I've tried putting him on it several times but it immediately slides off and seems extremely uncomfortable. Of the four corners on each of the hammocks, two are simply attached to the meshes on the sides of the penthouse. The slightest force applied to the hammock will pull in the net significantly. I don't blame my cat for not feeling safe. Also, be careful if your cat was technically an outdoor cat that was allowed to roam freely. He or she may spend all of their time in the enclosure trying to get out instead of enjoying it. My cat has only recently stopped restlessly pressing its muzzle and paws against the net. I'm not entirely dissatisfied with this product because my cat was so comfortable with it that she sits on the floor and enjoys the fresh air. But hammocks are still useless to him and I don't expect that to change. Bottom Line: If you don't have a medium or small sized cat and aren't willing to spend extra time and money reinforcing hammocks with materials not included in this kit, skip this product. That being said, I believe other Kittywalk products that don't have hammocks would probably work better for my kitty.

Cons
