Canon ink is overpriced and yes you are definitely taking a risk buying this ink but I am blown away by how well they work. I've never had a problem with error messages, they last forever so at $18 it's a bargain to have 4 of each, I really like them. I used them for fine art prints while I was at it and my prints always turn out great! I will say one thing: when I first installed them the ink didn't work quite right and I fixed it by shaking the cartridges. I'm not sure if you have to do this every time, but I've gotten into the habit of moving the ink around a bit while it's in the plastic so it doesn't smear all over before installation.
