The cable is not 15 inches.
There is a castrating joke somewhere here, but to be clear the cord itself is about 30cm long. If it was 15 inches I would have ordered a second one to keep on my desktop but it doesn't suit my needs. Otherwise it seems to be working fine. We use it in our bathroom where the genius builder decided two sockets would be enough.
