I just spent $400 at the vet and we concluded my cat got sick from bad food. That was after he had been ill for three days and I opened a regular jar from a new rancid box this morning. Black goo filled half the glass and I can't even describe the smell. It went in the bin and I opened 8 other cans that just didn't look or smell right. Called wellness and they said if the jar is dented or looks abnormal from the outside (a rancid jar didn't, by the way) don't feed it to your cat as the seal was broken. They do not use preservatives, so food spoils very quickly in this case. It's all checked before it leaves the factory, so somewhere along the line something isn't being handled properly. I've had this on auto delivery for a while (good price and free prime shipping) and gotten a lot of dented cans that I didn't know I should never feed my cat. And the cat was fine until this game. It looked a little different but smelled good so I fed it to him and in this particular case diarrhea and vomiting started. I've looked at the negative reviews and I'm not the only one this has happened to. Lots of people with crumpled cans. Although the one I fed my cat and the one that was awful and went straight to the trash looked perfectly fine from the outside. But something is clearly happening somewhere along the line that causes the food to go bad. And I don't want anyone else to get sick from that cat. Wellness customer service was wonderful. Revain's hotline was very helpful and informed that they were investigating. But I'm not the first to have this problem. If it's dented or doesn't look right, please don't give it to your cat. Call Revain and Wellness and let them know so they can find the problem and fix it before something terrible happens. My cat should be fine, we don't see any internal damage. I canceled my subscription and will never receive my grocery boxes from them again. Not worth the money saved, I'd rather know I'm feeding them the best and safest food I can find. And obviously this is not the place to get it.
