I installed these LED headlights on my 1985 Mazda RX-7 in place of the original 7" H4 Sealed Beams. Doesn't matter! Mainly because the first generation RX-7 didn't have a headlight relay so the entire Current going to the headlights flows through a switch in the cab LEDs draw far fewer amps the resistance in this circuit is essentially negligible buying a halogen bulb conversion as closed beam headlights just don't work well by today's standards Most other 7" LED conversions would either give my car segmented insect eyes or cost twice as much as a DOT approved halogen conversion kit. This product costs the same as a halogen conversion kit and has the DOT label underneath the glass. And now I have you don't have to buy a secondary headlight relay. The only reason this isn't a 5 star rating is is a design flaw. Due to the sealed beam design, you can't direct the Hi and Lo beams independently (closed headlight.) But in this headlight, the high beam and high beam are directed at the same angle. Yes, the high beam is brighter, but the high beam needs to be directed higher than the low beam.On some cars, the high and low beams are the same brightness and the headlights have the same brightness and the low beams turn off when the high beams are on. In the old days, the Volvo S60 didn't even have a high beam bulb, just a small motor to tilt the Headlights up when you turn on the high beams. It's not about the brightness, it's about the angle. Aiming your headlights so you can see more of the road ahead, they shine at an angle to shine the eyes of oncoming drivers. That's why you pointed your low beams slightly downwards so as not to dazzle oncoming traffic on an unlit road. They should. Compared to my old Sealed Beams, it's definitely worth it. Update: After further use I've noticed that the high beam is pointing slightly higher than the low beam, so I'll have to remove the smack on that. Also, I accidentally left the headlights on for about 5 hours, I didn't have the slightest problem starting my 32 year old car. I had to aim the headlights at the lowest setting on my car. But it is worthwhile in any case. Due to the price I'm increasing my rating to 5 stars.
