It came packaged in a sealed plastic bag with everything I needed including a tiny M2 screwdriver. No configuration is required since it's just an adapter, and the drive booted into Windows with good CrystalMark speeds (3.3 GB/s read and write) as expected. I bought this to fix an issue with a Gigabyte z390 Aorus Pro motherboard where the M2 drive would randomly stop being recognized resulting in a blue screen. The problem was intermittent so I won't know for a few weeks if this actually fixed the issue, but for now this adapter isn't any slower than plugging it directly into the M2 slot on the motherboard. Update 1 month in advance: This adapter seems to have solved the problem with the Z390 M2. Disk disappears (blue screen). I haven't had that since installing this adapter.
