I would give that 3.5 stars. (Round up to my actual rating because it's impossible to give a 3.5 star rating. Please Thirstystone!) I've had Thirstystone coasters for years and they've been great so I decided to order them as gifts. For someone else. At first I was worried it wasn't Thirstystone as they are thinner and lighter stone than my old coasters and don't say 'Thirstystone' on the back, but they look like they are from the Thirstystone 'Occasions' line. The color on the top makes it look like it doesn't absorb at all. Water collects at the top and is not absorbed. However, the unpainted sides absorb moisture very well. The colors and designs are great. These are very good coasters, thinner and lighter than my old Thirstystone. I would even go so far as to say that the unpainted sides are more absorbent than my old coasters. Overall I am very happy with these coasters.
