Review on 🎨 Melissa & Doug Wooden Art and Activity Table - Kids Furniture for Playroom with 4 Wooden Bins, Light Woodgrain and White 2-Tone Finish by Sherri Lee

Great art table. Now it's a slime station in our house. Natural wood is more like laminate.

In general I like the Melissa and Doug pieces because they are very well made and durable. It's no different, but the price is a bit off-putting as a regular table and two chairs are comparable in price. The table is well made and very easy to assemble. The instructions are clear, but it's actually quite easy to look at and assemble. Natural wood legs and well-made fittings make this model very durable. It's not perfect, but the kids put up with it and it's holding up great. I have a number of M&D chairs and stools that I use with him. It is high enough for our nieces and nephews aged 2, 3, 4 and 6. Ages 3 to 8 but depending on height and weight there is some wiggle room I think. It meets child safety requirements, no odor or assembly problems. I feel completely comfortable when my 2 year old niece uses it. I added soft feet to our legs because I know they will try to move him around the house if I'm not watching. However, it is surprisingly strong. It weighs over 60 pounds so they can't move it too much, and it's sturdy enough that I'm not worried about them crawling on it. We did something different with ours and used a sheet of flattened Plexiglas for the top. It fits well enough that children cannot take it off and protects the countertop. It's become something of an unofficial slime-making station and art space. I also lined the inner drawers with a cabinet liner to try and give it a little more life as they are covered in paint and markings and they are white. There are four drawers in total and the inserts are great in case one of the art supplies leaks. I assembled this in about half an hour using a single Phillips screwdriver. Very easy to set up, although quite heavy. The drawers run smoothly and I don't have to worry about kids pulling them out. The tabletop measures 32.5 inches by 35.75 inches and is 17.25 inches high. I have a couple of stools that make it easier to use as most kid sized stools are about a foot off the ground to begin with. It's durable and we love it, I'm just surprised that the price is almost the same as a regular table plus two chairs.
