Before I used the Microplane, I only used cheap graters that you could find at places like TJ Maxx for a few bucks. So I was reluctant to spend more than $10 on a grater. After my previous grater broke I decided to pull the trigger and give this item a try. The packaging was neat and the shipping was quick as expected. The first time I used it, I used a Parmigiano Reggiano wedge to garnish a tomato soup I was making. I still remember the first rust. Smooth, ample and effortless. That might seem like overkill, but for those who only used cheap graters, it was a learning experience. What would have generally taken me at least 15-20 grids was easily achieved with a full stroke of the micro level. At this point, I somewhat forgot about the soup and continued to grate the cheese in awe, leaving me with way more cheese than I needed. This is to give you a rough idea of how satisfied I am with the product. In any case, I highly recommend this grater for its elegant looks and undeniable performance! Incidentally, I was initially confused by the Microplane product numbers, but after a quick look I realized that the different Xs in 46X20 refer to color. Product. In case anyone is confused too, there is no difference in the product!
