The back pad of this backrest stool will not stay in place. No matter how tight I tighten the adjustment knob, after a few minutes the cushion will loosen and slip out of position. I thought I might use a stool with no backrest (it's detachable), but the seat is intentionally reclined. , so sitting without a backrest is uncomfortable and unstable. (Can't speak about the backless stool as I haven't seen it.) I was planning on returning it but it can't be taken apart after sitting on it for a while. The assembly/disassembly video that the manufacturer sent me showed a woman using a rubber mallet to hit the end of the cylinder to knock it out of the base and then the underside of the saddle to knock it out of the cylinder to beat. I got the help of an assistant but still couldn't knock the parts out with repeated hammer blows. As a final insult, Revane refuses to reimburse me for the cost of packaging to send the chair back to them for a refund even though it cannot be disassembled. Guess I gotta eat that prize
