I use this for storing rice and it works great, fits easily in a 3 lb bag which I just got and should be able to hold 5 pounds to handle. It's convenient that the measuring cup is right on top, it's convenient to choose the right number of servings. The spout has a hole about 1" in diameter, so it's not good for large chunks or sticky foods, but it should be great for dry rice, grains, beans, popcorn, and most cereals. For things like flour, that's better. have a container with a lid that can be easily removed so you can scoop it out. This container is designed to be filled, snapped on the lid and simply poured out the contents as needed. The container is quite large (12.3 inches) so make sure it will fit on your shelves before ordering.
