Good for kid lunches
I bought for my kids' lunch box. Every now and then they like a dipping sauce and this comes with a tiny container just for that. The trays on top are kind of shallow. This is where I put deli meat and crackers. The bottom portions is a bit deeper so I put granola bars, fruit, utensils, etc in there.If you intend this to be for salads, I would say it isn't big enough for a big salad. Maybe a side salad.
