When I got it I put batteries in it and turned it on and only 3 out of 5 lights worked and the music was shrill but I yanked it open and found 2 bulbs didn't worked out - because the wire was disconnected during assembly at the factory. So I soaked them and they worked, and then I heated the sodder to the speaker and pulled out the cord so it glowed without the loud music piercing your ears. You should have 2 switches, one for the light, the other for the speaker.
