My Otterbox case was falling apart and while it served me well I wanted something a little more comfortable. The Otterbox case was fine, but it was too fancy and fell out of my hands a lot, especially when holding it over me at night. So far, this current case has been an improvement in this area. The edges are a bit sharper and the overall texture is rougher, which I like, although some don't like it. I love the little kickstand feature and find it useful when trying to do something that requires both hands and still needs a good view of the screen. Haven't tested the strength of the case yet, but so far so good. The only real downside I've noticed compared to the Otterbox case is that the fingerprint reader is a bit more difficult to set up correctly, but it still works.
