Do a little research on building materials

After years of climbing rooftops to blow out our gutters, I decided it was time to get some gutter covers. A few years ago I got an offer from a reputable company and was blown away by the cost and unimpressed with the product so I snapped up. We have large trees near the house that drop a lot of leaves, seeds and acorns on the roof and in ditches that clog drains. After doing a lot of research and seeing what some friends have installed in their homes, how effective they are, and how outrageously expensive they are, I settled on these excellent gutter guards. When you get an offer from Xcompany, you will be overwhelmed by the ridiculous cost. It's like someone gave them a license to rip people off. So I decided to buy and install myself. I'm 70 years old and pretty good at DIY, but I've found these safety devices to be as good or better than any leading brand, much, much cheaper [just get Xcompany's estimate] and easy to install. Watch the video on YouTube. Now I have a ranch style house with no gutters on the 2nd and 3rd floors so I don't risk killing myself. For the average home, they're pretty easy to install, especially if you're a little younger and more energetic. I haven't had a heavy rain yet so I can't swear how well they will work, but I'm sure they will work as well or even better than others that can cost ten times what they cost per linear foot. You might even find a local handyman who installs a lot less. It's drought here so it's not raining, but since the leaves are already falling I can see them blowing off the roof instead of flying into the ditches. Hooray, I'm not climbing on the roof anymore.
