It doesn't look like a real kaleidoscope.
I'd say it's a fairly easy build but it will still keep the kids busy. The textbook was pretty cool too, the only real problem was that it didn't look like a real kaleidoscope when it was finished. This was important to me because my daughter had never seen a kaleidoscope so I bought it so it's definitely not worth the $26 to me.
