Review on 620 LB SurvivorCord: The Ultimate Type III Military Parachute Cord with Fishing Line, Wire, and Waterproof Fire Starter by William Chavez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Expensive for production in China!

I love how this cable looks and feels. The cord looks well made. Haven't used it yet so I'll update the review when I do. Why three stars? Two reasons. I was disappointed to learn that it was "responsibly" made in China. I don't know what that means, but for the price I was happy to pay, I expected a product made in the USA. Of course, I'm not very good at making something like this in America, but I have a pretty good idea of the price difference between the same thing made in China and the same thing made in America. I'm all for helping our veterans, but the price seems a bit excessive for a Chinese-made product. The line itself looked like it was wound up nicely, but when I tried to take it apart and put it on the spool tool it all got tangled and it literally took me half an hour to untangle it and put it on the spool. Just wrapping them in a plain piece of cardboard would solve that problem, I don't know why they wouldn't do something similar. So that was the reason for deducting the second star. To be fair I wrote to the company first but haven't received a reply yet. When Revane urged me to write a review I decided to write it now.
