Haven't used it for a long time, so can't talk about long-term use. For now, this is a great little oral thermometer for home use. Pros: - 8 second display - Quality flexible tip meter, comes with a hard plastic cap (and a set of disposable probe covers for safer use) - Display large enough for older members of our family to use. Shows the temperature in green for temperatures below 99.5 degrees and in red for 99.6 and above. I'm not sure if this feature is necessary, but it's different from other thermometers we've owned. The 2 year warranty should cover a $10.50 item long enough. Cons: - This is both a plus and a minus.
