Bought for myself when I started drawing as a hobby. I have looked for many different brands of this product and finally settled on the Meeden brand due to the clear product photos and sizing information and the fact that it can fit up to a 20 inch canvas. This box is very well designed. All wood surfaces are smooth, fittings are also of good quality. The box itself is lightweight which is a good thing, I think when filled with art supplies it would be too heavy to carry around with heavier wood. There is only one part that needs to be attached out of the box and that is the bar at the bottom that holds the canvas. Very easy! And the center pole that holds the screen up just needs to be flipped, the dividers added, and it's ready to go. Some reviews say their art supplies shift and fall off because the dividers aren't high enough... BUT I loved the extra space inside, the depth from the top of the slats to the inside top of the lid seems enough to accommodate a smaller canvas stow away or store a color palette. I wish this model came with a wooden pallet which would be perfect for holding all the accessories underneath so they don't move around! And finally, some people have complained that this box is bare wood... please! The wood is very smooth and some details appear to have been polished (oiled) or covered with a thin layer of polyester. If you're planning on taking this outside if you're worried about it getting wet, a light polyurethane coating isn't going to solve that problem. This would be a great gift for an art student. Fill it in with brushes, paints, a small canvas and a palette, what a lovely gift! And for the price of this box, the quality really can't be beat!
