Review on 🌢️ Vibrant Cajun Spice Haircolor by Adore - Long-lasting Semi-Permanent 4 Ounce Dye by Tomas Webb

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Crimson for victory! Neutral dark red.

Raspberry is my new favorite red hair color. I've been coloring my hair for over 20 years. For a long time I did my hair using Punky Color and Manic Panic. Then for many years I colored my hair professionally, mostly with special effects colors. I like the SE's staying power, but not the bleed! Adore dyes have pretty good staying power, but they only really bleed out the first few times the hair gets wet. Now I'm building it out and instead of spending $$$ on a pro I just keep my goals in color. The formula is quite runny like Special Effects and unlike Punky Color and Manic Panic gels. This makes applying it a bit more difficult, but not that bad since I'm really only working on my ends. Even though my hair is almost black, I get a crimson glow in the black areas when I apply this color to the roots. I decided on red for a long time and looked at patterns on the Internet. Crimson was my first choice and I was very happy with the end result. I also recently picked up Ruby Red and Raging Red to compare/contrast and colorize some extensions with highlights and dims. Crimson is a deep red with a pink undertone, but is almost neutral compared to the other reds in the range. All three Adore reds I tested have cool undertones, but Raging Red is very, very cool - I hope the darkness hides most of the coolness. None of them have very warm and orange PC/MP colors like Vermillion Red, Pillarbox Red and Wildfire. (I tend to prefer warmer shades.) I've been coloring my hair for so long I've forgotten that many people don't know how to get the most out of semi-permanent color (which is actually MORE permanent than permanent). color for me). ). Here are some tips: 1. Before coloring, wash with a harsh "cleansing" shampoo or dish soap without hand softener if your hair holds and rinse with warm/hot water. WHY? - This opens the cuticle where color can deposit and also removes other color and debris.2. Do not condition before dyeing. WHY? - This will close/smooth the cuticles and you don't want to do this until you color.3. Apply paint, wrap in plastic to retain moisture, heat and leave MUCH longer than the directions say. WHY? - This allows more color to penetrate deeper. You want it to stay moist and activated because once it dries, that's pretty much it. (This only applies to semi-permanent dyes without a developer.)4. Rinse in COLD or lukewarm water. WHY? - to smooth the cuticles again and keep that color! If you've ever had a Brazilian Keratin treatment, feel the same way about washing it off. condition after death. WHY? - to close/smooth cuticles and preserve color. Personally, I don't protect my hairline with petroleum jelly because it makes me more messy. I just wash the paint with alcohol. If your bathtub is dirty, bleach and AJAX will help you. I will update this review as I paint the extensions. I will also mix ruby and raging and see if the color is similar to crimson.
