GREAT COLOURS, QUALITY MATERIAL, RIGHT SIZES

I have posted pictures of three potholders I made. They are all made from Harrisville Loops. There are 6 Color Rainbow, Houndstooth and 12 Color Rainbow. Here's how to make them. There are 18 frames on each side of the loom. For the "6 Color Rainbow" the warp and weave are the same, and the pattern is 3 red, 3 orange, 3 yellow, 3 green, 3 blue, 3 purple. For "12 Color Rainbow" use groups as well. of 3 of the same color but chain and binding are different. Also notice that I used 3 shades of green. WARP: 3 dark purple, 3 royal blue, 3 pale green, 3 green #1, 3 green #2, 3 green #3. WEAVE: 3 yellow, 3 orange, 3 salmon, 3 red, 3 fuchsia, 3 light purple. Six colors each for warp and binding, so a total of 12 colors. (I searched "rainbow" on Wikipedia and found some interesting info by the way.) For Houndstooth, this is the basic pattern that came with the Harrisvile metalloom. I used purple and green. G = green and P = purple. Warp and weave are the same. GGPPGGPPGGPPGGPPGG. This means that 2 stitches of one color alternate with 2 stitches of another color. You have 5 pairs of the color you started with and 4 pairs of the other color for the warp and the same amount for the weave. These loops are the best I've used. I have used other types of hinges in the past which are clearly of poor quality. Some of them are not cotton, and some are so variable in size that it is almost impossible to stretch them on a loom. I'm so happy I discovered these Harrisville Loops. These bows are made of high quality cotton, very nice colors and the same size. They are pleasant to use. I have a Harrisville metal loom - IMO this is what is needed. I don't like plastic looms. I use my fingers for most of the tack making process. If things get tight at the end of the process, I use a "J" or "I" size hook. I recommend a strong plastic hook or better an aluminum hook. I don't use the hook that came with the loom. It's a fun, enjoyable and relaxing hobby for both adults and children. Pot holders make a great gift. I love listening to music while making potholders. Harrisville hinges are simply the best. No complaints at all! By the way, there are also bags in individual colors. Enjoy! If you enjoy crafting and making beautiful things, you will probably enjoy this.
