Used for an old metal halide lamp in our office car park. There used to be 4 1000W MH lamps with ballast. As these LED bulbs also use the A39 fitting it was very easy to upgrade! Simply remove the old ballasts completely and connect mains voltage directly to the lamp sockets. These LED bulbs can take 90300 volts AC so they are pretty versatile. Our lights were timed and we had 220 volts at the base so there was no problem. Simply unscrew! They are about 1 1/2 inches shorter than a 1000 watt MH lamp, but their major diameter is nearly identical. tungsten lamp! Very energy efficient. As you can see from the other photos of our car park, these LED bulbs do their job really well. In fact, they're slightly brighter than the 1000-watt bulbs they replaced. Please note that these bulbs have a fan at the end. They work great in a regular fixture that has some airflow. Like all LED light bulbs, do not use them in a sealed case. sealed packaging and you will be sad because they have a short lifespan and will burn out. Because they come in a variety of wattages, a person can keep their existing outdoor lights (savings) by bypassing the ballast and saving electricity. This is a wonderful product.
