THERMOSTAT is best in the wall

Before buying this unit I read a lot of good reviews about Freidrich air conditioners and my neighbor had a very quiet air conditioner. I was specifically looking for a quiet air conditioner like my daughter's bedroom. This model is quiet enough, but not that quiet. I also wanted the unit to have a thermostat. After just over a month of use in LA in July, we concluded that the thermostat had gone wrong. It looks like the thermostat is in the part of the unit that is outside the window. When it's hot during the day, the air conditioner stays pretty much at the temperature the thermostat is set to most of the time. When it's cooler at night, the air conditioning turns off, but doesn't turn on unless the temperature is set very low. Below 69F. And it depends on how hot/cold it is outside. The remote control is also very strange. When you press the buttons on the device, the remote control will not sync with the changes. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, and it really isn't that much, but it's really weird. You will see and agree when you buy this device. WiFi doesn't work either. That being said, the unit keeps the room cool and somewhat quiet, but if you're looking for a basic compact window air conditioner, you might be better off looking at other units with a similar BTU at a lower price. Frigidaire offers several options.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • too stupid
