Review on Rip Curl Sleeve Spring X Small by Tom Oberhue

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Overall not bad but with one big flaw

When I received this suit I wasn't as impressed as I expected with all the hype surrounding the lighter, stretchier E4- neoprene. Personally I can't tell the difference in stretch (compared to another high end 3 year old suit I have) but someone else might. However, the free zip system is great and works very well. Overall I wasn't impressed (for the money I paid) but happy with the suit before my first surfing session. The seam going up the neckline gave me a horrible rash to the point that I had to stop surfing and ditch this suit. I took another shot a few days later and it's basically the same. I read the Rip Curl's return policy and realized I can't return it once I put it in the water, but I tried anyway. They said I couldn't get it back and I'm basically stuck, but to their credit they suggested someone try to cover the neck seam with something. However, in my opinion it will still cause a rash. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive suit that I can't use. The one star rating might seem low given the amazing no zip system (as mentioned above) but this suit is useless to me so waste of money.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Good but not great
