This solved a number of issues with the metal cable that came with our anchor cable and we are happy with it. The anchor we received comes with at least 20 feet of metal wire. That means the dog has a circle 40 feet wide. We don't leave our dog tied up unattended, but we do tie him up when we're out on a hike. The problem is that camping usually only has ten or six feet of open space, so the dog ends up wrapping the metal cord around all sorts of things. When the "thing" she wraps the cord around is our leg, it hurts! This nylon cord is just the right length at 8 feet and 3/8 inch thick enough to hold our 12 pound furry. Reliable but not so thick that it's heavy or rigid. The rope has little stretch/flex and the blue/black coloring is appealing. The hinges have a flexible rubber coating and the black color on the metal ends is smooth. Is applicable. The 3 1/4 inch locking spring on opening and closing could have been a little smoother but is tolerable.
